Chill is deeply saddened by the shooting at Club Q in Colorado Springs and stands in solidarity with the LGBTQ2S+ community. It\u2019s heartbreaking that today many members of the LGBTQ2S+ community across the US feel less welcome, less appreciated, less safe than they did before this latest attack. Brazen violence motivated by hate can overwhelm our sense of agency and sometimes make us feel helpless. But such acts are only the most extreme manifestations of anti-LGBTQ2S+ intolerance that surround us all each day in our communities and in the media.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s clear that more frequent bigoted rhetoric in our political discourse is inspiring increasing acts of hate-based violence, large and small.\u00a0 We each have an important role to play in standing up to anti- LGBTQ2S+ sentiments when they surface, in challenging ourselves to speak and act more inclusively, and in reaffirming the beauty and important contributions of the LGBTQ2S+ community.
